Birmingham Snow Hill - British Railways Period Locomotives: gwrbsh2582

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 4073 Class No 5089 'Westminster Abbey' approaches Birmingham Snow Hill with an up express on 22nd February 1964. Originally built by Swindon works in January 1923 as Star Class locomotive No 4065 'Westminster Abbey', it was rebuilt as a Castle Class locomotive to Lot 317 in October 1939 keeping its name but gaining the running number No 5089 which it retained until November 1964 when it was withdrawn from 2B Oxley shed to be scrapped by J Cashmores of Great Bridge.
