View of Snow Hill station's frontage seen on 20th November 1966 towards the end of its operational life. The 12 platforms were located below road level, trains from the south entering via the 564 yard Snow Hill tunnel and from the north via the 132 yard Hockley tunnel. The 126 room hotel, built in 1863, was closed in 1909 due to the lack of patronage. It was then used by the GWR to provide office accommodation for goods and passenger administration.
