Birmingham Snow Hill Station: gwrbsh73

Looking along Platform 6 towards the tunnel at the South end of Snow Hill station whilst a DMU is seen discharging passengers. The length of Snow Hill station's platforms can easily be discerned in this view as this section of the 1200 foot long platform is inside the train shed which is less than half of the platform's length. The roof was much lower than the previous train shed and a section of of the roof over the two middle roads has not been clad in order to allow the smoke to escape. Not apparent from this photograph was the fact that the station roof was straight over its length whilst the track work and platforms curved slightly to the right.
