GWR Route: Alcester to Hatton Junction
Claverdon Station: gwrc4004
The attached Great Western Railway Land Survey dated 1884
shows the land purchased by the Stratford Railway Company for their line at
Claverdon. A single platform station was built on the eastern side of a new
road bridge. The bridge was constructed slightly to the west of the original
road alignment. The original road was partially retained to give access to
station yards on both sides of the line. The two hundred and twenty five foot
long platform (marked yellow on the plan) had a single storey building housing
the passenger booking office and station facilities. Behind this a separate
house was constructed for the station-master. On the other side of the line was
a single siding adjacent to a raised loading wharf for Goods traffic.
