GWR Route: Alcester to Hatton Junction

A second photograph of the new station construction taken on the same day as 'gwrc906' by the official GW photographer. Here the work on the new 450ft platforms is viewed from the position of the future road-side booking office. The goods loop point remains, but the loop has been lifted to allow the route of the second running line to be ballasted. The contractor has installed a narrow gauge tramway on both sides to assist with the transportation of materials during the building of the platform face walls. A small petrol engine was used to propel the wagons.
