An early 1970s view of the station's main structure showing all to clearly the years of neglect by British Railways. Not only are their holes in the nearest structure caused by rotting timbers but all signage has been removed. This reflected the concerted attempt by British Rail, as British Railways had become known as part of their pre-steam corporate identity, to close the line.
