GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line

Danzey for Tanworth Station: gwrdt2827

Two images of one of the elliptical arches of the bridge taken some 100 hundred years apart

Two close-up photographs of the spiralling parallel courses in the one of the three flat elliptical arches constructed to create the skewed bridge over Umberslade Hall driveway. The black and white photograph appeared in the Great Western Magazine in January 1908 with the article transcribed here, while the coloured photograph was taken over one hundred years later and shows how this sandstone stone bridge has retained its original graceful appearance and structural integrity.
