An elevated view from the passenger footbridge looking towards Birmingham and showing the goods yard on the left and the signal box on the right. Access to the goods yard was via two trailing connections at either end of the passing loop both of which had a head shunt at either end. The goods yard was very simple with a single long siding for wagons to be loaded or unloaded by local merchants. The white corrugated asbestos sheeted shed on the platform was an original structure and is thought to provide storage for the various items that running a station required including lamps, oil etc.
