GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line
Earlswood Lakes Station: gwrel664
British Railways built GWR 4-6-0 Hall class No 7915 'Mere
Hall' is seen having restarted the 11 05 Illfracombe to Wolverhampton express
service on 25th August 1962. The restart was required because No 7915 'Mere
Hall' had just detached the pilot locomotive, ex-GWR 0-6-0 No 2210, which had
given it aid up the banks from Stratford Upon Avon. Built by Swindon in March
1950 No 7915 lasted a mere (no pun intended) fifteen years before it was
withdrawn from Tyseley in October 1965 to be scrapped by J Cashmore of Great
Bridge in the January of the following year.
