GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line

Grimes Hill & Wythall Platform: gwrgh2885

Ex-GWR 2-6-2T No 5104 stands at Grimes Hill station with the 4:30pm Moor Street to Henley-in-Arden service on 28th May 1957. A member of the 5101 or Large Prairie Class, No 5105 had been built by Swindon works to Lot 257 in November 1929 and remained in service until October 1958 when it was withdrawn from 85B Horton Road shed in Gloucester to be scrapped by Swindon works. The white ballast indicates that the tracks have benefitted from some Permanent Way work.
