View of the second signal box at Greaves Siding which was opened on 3rd February 1918. It was located on the opposite side of the main line from the Harbury Cement Works, in a position adjacent to the first signal box. The original 19th century Signal Box had a 14 lever frame. The new signal box was the standard type 7D Signal Box of brick construction with a hipped roof with torpedo ridge vents and a stove pipe chimney. It was the final variation of a Signal Box design first introduced over twenty years previously. The Signal Box was 25 feet long by 11 feet wide with an operating floor 11 feet above rail level. The operating floor had the characteristic 3 up / 2 down windows, which gave a good view of the switches under the Signalman's control. The Signal Box housed a vertical tappet, three bar locking frame with 28 levers centred at 4 inch intervals. This photograph was taken in April 1983. When the Signal Box eventually closed, several of the brass plates from the levers were presented to the Shacklestone Station Museum.
