GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line

Henley in Arden - Original Station: gwrha1380

Wolverhampton built GWR 0-4-2T 517 class No 539 is seen at the head of the branch passenger train at the beginning of the 20th century. The class was rebuilt from a saddle tank locomotive in July 1881 and together with sister engines, No 523, No 1427 and No 1438, regular worked the branch until its closure on 1st January 1915.
