View of the gantry signal with the signal on the left controlling the loop line, which runs parallel to the bay line behind the up platform in April 1953. The Great Western Railway used ringed signal arms for goods or loop lines. On this signal post; the top ringed starting signal (lever 24) indicates the status of the route from the loop to the head shunt spur, the middle ringed starting signal (lever 23) indicates the status of the route from the loop to the up main line, while the lower ringed starting signal (lever 44) indicates the status of the route from the loop to the down main line / branch line. The signals on the right controls the bay line, with the upper main starting signal (lever 4) indicating the status of the route from the bay to the up main line, while the lower starting signal on the bracket (lever 10) indicates the status of the route from the bay to the down main line / branch line.
