Close up of image 'gwrha1419' showing the original Henley-in-Arden single-storey station building built using red brick and grey slate roof and the ornate platform front. The platform frontage is rather ornate with brick platform edging and solid arches at rail level throughout its length. Although the layout of the station building is unknown we can see that there was at least five fireplaces within the building from the chimney pots on the stacks. The timber framed box with louvres against the gable end of the roof indicates that the gentlemen's toilets was underneath in the small flat roof extension. The door at on the nearest corner to the photographer would in all likelihood be to the ladies waiting room which had an internal toilet and because of shared plumbing facilities would have been next to the gentlemen's toilets. The porter's barrow, milk churns and other items at the far end of the station would appear to indicate that this was the porters office. In between would be the entrance to the station through the booking hall and general waiting room, the former being confirmed by image 'gwrha659' which shows an outside elevation of the station.
