Detailed plan and elevation of the Station Road Approach (now Millfield Court / William James Way) bridge over the River Alne in Henley-in-Arden. The plan is stamped Birmingham and Henley-in-Arden Railway 1893, one year before the branch line opened. The twenty foot span bridge supported a cambered road twenty foot wide on seven steel joists (23’ long x 16” x 6”), at 3’ 7.5” centres with brickwork arches between the joists and restraining tie rods at 5 foot intervals. The bridge was designed for a maximum weight of 12 tons.
