GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 Castle class No 5091 'Cleeve Abbey' is seen nearing the summit at the head of a down express service from Paddington. Re-built from 'Star' class engine No 4071 Cleeve Abbey in December 1938 its first shed allocation was Bath Road in Bristol. Transferred from Cardiff Canton shed to Cardiff East Dock shed in September 1962 No 5091's last shed was Tyseley from where it was withdrawn in October 1964 to be scrapped at J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
