GWR 5101 class 2-6-2T Prairie No 5152 with Tyseley engineer's train coming to the rescue of the derailed Pontypool Rd Brakevan

GWR 5101 class 2-6-2T Prairie No 5152 with Tyseley engineer's train coming to the rescue of the derailed Pontypool Rd Brakevan (Toad) circa 1946. The Toad has come to grief on the pointwork at the start of the branch to Stratford adjacent to the middle junction. Built at Swindon in February 1930 No 5152 was allocated, like most of the 5101 class to the Wolverhampton Division, where they were the mainstay of the suburban services. These engines were also frequently used as banking engines. Locomotive No 5152 was known to be allocated to Stourbridge Shed in 1934. This engine was withdrawn in November 1963 from Worcester Shed (85A) and scrapped in April 1964 by TW Ward, Broughton Lane, Sheffield.
