GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton
Hatton Station: gwrhj1889
Looking from Station Road from above the north up siding
towards Hatton South Signal Box on the island platform. There was a second
siding behind the rear of the up platform but accessed from the south. To the
right of the horse box and cattle wagon is one of Hatton's lampposts lit by
petrol air gas. This was manufactured on site, in a building out of sight on
the left. The introduction of electrical lighting in 1949 made this system
redundant. In the distance on the right are the distinctive curved army Nissen
huts which were used as stores by the Royal Engineers.
