GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Hatton Station: gwrhj1892

Looking towards Solihull with Shrewley Common overbridge in the distance and Hatton North Signal Box on the left. The signal box was equipped with a 25-lever frame. The bridge seen beyond Shrewley Common road bridge is the farmers' occupation bridge which is seen being demolished in image 'gwrhj1876'. The north curve seen on the left of the photograph was only laid as single track and was bidirectional. The bracket signals on the up line controlled access both to the north curve as well as the line to Hatton station. Hatton North Signal Box closed along with the other signal boxes on 1st September 1969 when Saltley Power Box opened.
