GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 King class No 6011 'King James I' approaches Handsworth & Smethwick on 22nd June 1956. The locomotive is hauling the 8:55am Birkenhead to Paddington service with the photograph being taken from the window of the passing 11:45am Snow Hill to Stourbridge service. Built at Swindon works in April 1928, No 6011 was to remain in service until December 1962 when it was withdrawn from 81A Old Oak Common shed.
