GWR 4-4-0 Bulldog class No 3372 'Sir N Kingscote' on an up excursion train with the two clerestory coaches behind the tender south of Knowle and Dorridge. First built at Swindon works with parallel boiler in March 1903 as number 3424 'Sir Nigel' it was quickly renamed and numbered in December 1903. It was later modified first by being fitted with a full-cone boiler in October 1908 and later by being equipped with a superheated boiler in January 1912. In May 1922 it was allocated to Carmarthen shed and remained in service until it was withdrawn from Hereford shed in October 1936 for scrapping by Swindon works.
