GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

A view of the original Brunel designed station buildings looking towards Birmingham prior to the quadrupling of the tracks in 1930s. The main station buildings were on the down (left) platform as when built the majority of traffic was intended for Birmingham. Although either side of the station four tracks were evident these were relief lines in the Birmingham direction the tracks converging after a quarter of a mile. Towards Leamington, one was a long siding and the other was a relief line.
