GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Ex-GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 No 4086 'Builth Castle' starts away from the up platform on 6th September 1952. At the time of the photograph No 4086 was allocated to 85A Worcester shed but would within a month be moved to 87G Carmarthen shed thereby ending its its association with Worcester that had first commenced in July 1939. Built by Swindon works in June 1926, No 4086 remained in service until April 1962 when it was withdrawn from 81D Reading shed to be scrapped J Cashmore's of Newport.
