GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Ex-GWR 81xx 2-6-2T No 8109 stands in the down bay with a Stratford upon Avon service on 25th August 1952. Although only ten of the class were built Leamington were allocated two, No 8100 and 8109, on their introduction in 1938 and 1939 respectively. Built at Swindon works to Lot 320 in November 1939 No 8109 remained in service until June 1965 when it was withdrawn from 2A Tyseley shed to be scrapped by Birds of Long Marston.
