GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Looking north from the stairs along Leamington station's newly complete down platform towards Warwick on 21st April 1939. The bench seating is the later type introduced circa 1934 with a cast iron frame containing the initials of the GWR in a manner similar to the GWR button logo used on locomotives. The original bench seat design, which incorporated the initials of the railway intertwined, was introduced early in the 20th century.
