Close up of image 'gwrls230' showing the single tub coaling tipping mechanism which projected outwards from the coaling stage to over the locomotive's bunker or tender. This view shows that the original coaling stage's tipping mechanism only accommodated one half-ton tub. The sleigh like structure would be lowered in the manner of a drawbridge over the gap between the locomotive and coaling stage. The curved end was designed to hold the tub when it was tipped up allowing the coal to drop into the bunker or tender.
