Close up of image 'gwrlr236' showing enthusiasts standing next to the locomotives stabled in front of the four road shed. The state of the shed is now extremely dirty resulting from being exposed to years of smoke and soot. The doors so evident in image 'gwrls2165c' are no longer evident whilst the glazed panels above doors designed to illuminate the shed are now as black as the brickwork. When first built the shed was designed so that it could be extended by the addition of extra roads to the right of the building. The average number of locomotives allocated to the shed appears to have been thirty so for much of the shed's life no such extension was required.
