GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton
Leamington Spa Station: gwrls2381
British Railways 4-6-0 Standard Class 5MT No 73069 runs
northwards light engine at Leamington on 11th April 1965. At the time the
photograph was taken, No 73069 was allocated to 2L Leamington shed having been
transferred there week-ending 10th October 1964 staying until week-ending 19th
June 1965 when it was transferred to 2A Tyseley shed where it remained until
April 1966 when it was transferred to 9K Bolton shed. Built by Crewe works in
November 1954, No 73069 was to remain in service until the month of steam on
British Railways being withdrawn during August 1968 from 10A Carnforth
shed.
