GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Leamington Shed: gwrls3831

British Railways built 2MT 2-6-2T No 41231, standing in front of Leamington shed in March 1962. A member of Ivatt's 2MT class, No 41231 was in service from August 1949 to May 1964 when it was withdrawn from 84D Leamington shed to be scrapped by J Cashmore's of Great Bridge. At the time of this photo, No 41231 had been allocated to Leamington shed for less than six months. Again, this ex-LMS loco is in a notably unloved condition, unlike the ex-GWR locos at Leamington at this time.
