GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Leamington South Junction: gwrls3951

Letter regarding a trial over the Leamington South Junction taking place on the 15th July 1909

Two letters sent to Mr SF Johnson (GWR Divisional Superintendent at Birmingham Snow Hill) regarding a trial trip over the junction between the Great Western Railway and L&NWR at the south end of Leamington.

The first letter dated 4th June sent by Mr Lionel R Wood (GWR Civil Engineer based at Stafford Road, Wolverhampton) requests details of the trial trip, so that his Inspector Mr Sedgley can be present. The second letter dated 10th July sent on behalf of Mr RT Morcom (District Superintendent of the L&NWR at Birmingham New Street Station) also requesting details of this trail trip. The trial trip was scheduled to take place on the 15th July 1909, which was the day before the junction was to be officially reopened for the Cardiff to East Coast through passenger service.
