Two Great Western Railway internal letters about the proposed carriage sidings at Leamington

Two Great Western Railway internal letters about the proposed carriage sidings at Leamington:

The first internal letter dated 9th March 1909 indicates that Mr Wright suggested alterations to the original plan for the proposed five road carriage sidings. The alteration would involve an run-around to a short head-shunt at the far end of the sidings. The head-shunt would be long enough for a locomotive and one carriage. This would allow locomotives to be released and single coaches to be added or removed from coach sets within the sidings.

The second internal letter dated 14th June 1909 sent on behalf of Mr J Morris (Superintendent of the Line at Paddington) to Mr SF Johnson (Birmingham Division Superintendent based at Snow Hill Station) gives an estimated cost of the proposed carriage sidings (£2,620). This is broken down as £2,520 for the Engineering Department and £100 for the Signalling Department.
