GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

A GWR' 1076' class 0-6-0ST is seen at the head of a short goods train standing adjacent to the water column. The water column is of the crane type which would swivel outwards over the track for ease of placing the 'bag' (the leather tube) into the bunker or tender. This water column has a conical cylinder placed under the 'bag' to catch the dripping water when not in use. The small signal on the left (compare it to the other signal on the right) controlled access to and from the old excursion platform, latterly the up bay platform.
