GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton
Leamington Spa Station: gwrls876
Looking from the down platform across to the up platform with
GWR No 2 diesel rail-car standing in the bay. The passenger footbridge is still
standing prior to its demolition being replaced by the original station subway.
John Copsey writes that in 1937 a new diesel-car service from Worcester
commenced which 'worked into Leamington once each morning, twice during the
afternoon and once again in the evening'. John also informs his readers that
during the war the services to Stratford upon Avon had by 1943 returned to the
same level as in September 1939 but were now worked by two such rail-cars.
