GWR Route: Stratford on Avon to Honeybourne

Looking south in 1924 along the up platform towards Honeybourne showing the down platform building in pristine condition. The lighting to the station at this time was provided by lanterns suspended from the canopy and lampposts placed at intervals along the platform. They would be lit by oil lamp the filling and trimming of the wicks, together with the daily ritual of lighting and extinguishing them, would be the responsibility of the junior porter.
