GWR Route: Stratford on Avon to Honeybourne

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 No 5046 'Earl Cawdor' heads the Down 'Cornishman' past Milcote station's sidings on 31st May 1961. Built by Swindon works in April 1936 as 'Clifford Castle' to Lot 303, No 5046 was renamed in August 1937 as 'Earl Cawdor' which it carried until September 1962 when it was withdrawn from 84A Stafford Road shed to be scrapped by Swindon works. The bogie of this locomotive was used as part of the Jodrell Bank Telescope.
