Internal view of Moor Street station's high level shed with the unloading platform on the left and the mileage platform on the right. The shed's platform was 400 feet long and was used to unload principally perishable traffic from a siding running on the other side of the platform. The mileage siding was used to unload goods direct from the wagon to the horse-drawn carts seen standing on the roadway. Whilst handling perishable traffic arriving in the early hours of the day was its main purpose, the high level shed would also accommodate general traffic arriving after the morning's market traders goods had been dispersed.
