Looking towards Bordesley showing the Snow Hill to Paddington line on the left and the low level Goods Sheds under construction next to the passenger station. Robert Ferris writes, 'In the caption, the date is given as circa 1918, but it must be several years earlier as the first portion of the goods depot was opened by 1914. I would date the photograph as 1910 as it shows the 1909 brick arch-work complete and preparations for the support of the new ferroconcrete arches in the station viaduct (contract let in 1910 according to the 1916 article)'.
