Four Great Western Railway 4-6-0 60xx (King) class locomotives carry out the 1st speed test on the plate girder bridge over Grange Road / Station Road, adjacent to the platforms of Knowle & Dorridge Station. Locomotives No 6001 ‘King Edward VII’ and No 6014 ‘King Henry VII’ on the left, are accompanied by No 6017 ‘King Edward IV’ and No 6005 ‘King George II’. The photograph has been taken from the footbridge at Knowle & Dorridge Station (119m 0c) looking towards Solihull. The locomotives are on the new Relief Lines, which were built on the south-west side of the original track at this location.
