View of the rebuilt station's taken from the Down Main
platform with the Up Main on the right with on the left the Up Relief platform.
The original 1930s GWR timber station sign has been replaced by the standard
British Railway enamel sign although the concrete posts are still retained. The
modesty screen which hid the entrance to the gentlemen's toilets has several
fire buckets suspended on the side, a reminder of the dangers associated with
steam locomotives ejecting sparks and embers from their chimneys. The roof of
the booking offices and cycle sheds and be seen on the right circa late
1950s.
