GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 No 6016 'King Edward V' on a down express from Paddington, passing Solihull in the late afternoon in November 1961. The train is about to pass under the Streetsbrook Road overbridge. Behind the locomotive is the entry to Solihull goods yard sidings. Built by Swindon works No 6016 was in service from June 1928 until its withdrawal in September 1962 from 84A Stafford shed to be scrapped. At the time of this photo, No 6016 was allocated to 83D Laira shed.
