GWR Route: Stratford on Avon to Hatton

View of an unidentified GWR 2-4-2T 36xx class locomotive running light engine towards Stratford on Avon West Signal Box with the up refuge siding behind. In the West Midlands pre-1914 the 36xx class were found in equal numbers to the 39xx class 2-6-2T locomotives with approximately six being allocated to Leamington Spa shed. The last of class were withdrawn from the area by 1934 with the No 3616 being withdrawn from Stratford on Avon shed in 1933 and No 3628 from Leamington Spa shed in the following year. In the distance can be seen the houses that lined either side of Shottery Road.
