GWR Route: Stratford on Avon to Hatton

GWR 2-4-0T 35xx class 'Metro Tank' No 3563 is seen at the head of a five-coach Leamington Spa to Stratford on Avon local passenger service made up primarily of six-wheel coaches circa 1928. The fifth coach appears to be a standard GWR 57 foot suburban coach which is also taller with a more rounded roof when compared to the much older six-wheeled coaches behind the locomotive. Built at Swindon works in February 1894 No 3563 remained in service until January 1945 when it was withdrawn from 'CHR' Chester shed to be scrapped in March 1946 by Swindon works.
