Another view of the Cold Store loop line alongside Platform 3 at Stratford on Avon station with the Ministry of Foods depot seen on the left in 1950. There was a rising gradient in the siding towards Wilmcote and it was impracticable to exchange wagons. This meant that the empty wagons would be removed first prior to the loaded wagons being brought over. Moves were made wrong in the direction along the up line, returning right line. Most of the traffic was boxed wagons with an occasional refrigerated van supplementing others carrying tinned food. The coach seen standing on the Cold Store up loop line is thought to have been the London through coach which operated from Stratford on Avon during the working week.
