In front of the cattle dock, between the rails, a section of track shows the normal timber sleepers have been removed replaced by a brick hard standing which had channels formed to carry away the effluent which the cows would crate. A drain would carry this away to a nearby soakaway. The water tower provided the station with water for the water columns for topping up locomotives and for other non-drinking purposes.
