					 GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton 
					 Small Heath and Sparkbrook Station: gwrsh3994 
					  
					  
					 This postcard shows Golden Hillock Road crossing the station
						bridge at Small Heath with the Station Booking Office on the left. In the
						background located in the fork between Golden Hillock Road and Anderson Road
						was a Hotel called The Sydenham. This hotel had several function
						rooms and an extensive garden behind with; a bowling green, dancing platform
						and fish pond. The land on which the hotel was built is recorded as being sold
						back to the original owners, Sir TE Winnington (MP for Bewdley) and others on
						9th October 1862 (see Land Survey plan 'gwrsh3995'.
