Looking across to the cattle pens from the end of the platform with the goods shed on the left and the original engine shed in the background in 1954. In the distance to the right of the PW hut on the line to Shipston-on-Stour can be seen the head shunt for the siding. Messrs. Jenkins and Carpenter note that 'surprisingly, the station still handled considerably quantities of traffic during the period after closure of passenger traffic in 1929 to the out break of the Second World War. Inward traffic included coal, building materials, agricultural machinery and general supplies, whilst outward traffic consisted mainly of hay, livestock and other agricultural products.
