GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton
Soho and Winson Green: gwrswg1569
Interior of the new Soho & Winson Green Warehouse
showing the transit area on the ground floor. In the centre were two railway
tracks each with a capacity of fourteen wagons running parallel to the two
transit platforms. Instructions in the Great Western Railway - Towns, Villages,
etc (Goods Stations) Handbook of 1938 identified that truck loads of freight
for Birmingham, which were subject to scale charges should be sent to the Soho
& Winson Green Warehouse. In 1937 this yard handled 38,000 tons of
traffic.
