GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton
GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line
Tyseley Shed: gwrt2413
Ex-GWR 2-6-0 43xx Class No 6332 heads an up goods train off
the North Warwickshire line circa 1960. The arrangement of the junction by 1960
was as follows: the three lines to the left of the signal box are, from left to
right; up main, down main and up relief line; with the down relief passing to
the right of the signal box. The line on which the goods train is exiting from
the North Warwickshire was classified as the up line whilst the main line to
Birmingham was classified as the down line. The train would therefore be
accepted by the signal box as an up train but forwarded to the next box as a
down train. Built at Swindon works in April 1921, No 6332 was to remain in
service until September 1960 when it was withdrawn from 84F Stourbridge
Junction shed.
