In gleaming and pristine condition ex-ROD 2-8-0 No 3008 is seen standing full coaled inside Tyseley shed in August 1932. Built as ROD No 2017 for the Railway Operating Department as part of the emergency powers adopted during World War One by the North British Locomotive Works in May 1919 it was purchased by the GWR and remained in service until September 1948 when it was withdrawn from Stafford shed in Wolverhampton to be scrapped during July 1949 by Swindon works.
