Close up of image 'gwrt327' showing GWR 2-4-0 Barnum class No 3210 with the bufferbeam removed and supported by a rail mounted trolley tall and slim screw jacks. To access the cylinders which were inside the frames under the smokebox required the bufferbeam to be removed a simple procedure provided the bolts had not seized. This type of maintenance work was not too difficult although the conditions found inside the shed in winter could be challenging. Note on the left the water hydrant and washing facilities and the door in the background marked 'Mechanics'.
